There are two types of people in this world: People who like root beer, and people who do not.
You can’t force it on people. It doesn’t come natural. You either have it, or you don’t.
For those of us who have it, tonight is our night. Happy Root Beer Float Day!

You have just helped me decide where to have lunch. There is still a drive-in restaurant here in Dallas that is like a time capsule. It is an interesting mix of real cyclists (read road warriors) and the boomers who have rented the Harley for the weekend. It has the car hops, the window trays (roll your window up 2 inches please) great burgers and root beer in frosted mugs with ice cream if you want. Even though its 110 in the shade here and I can have a sauna and a float in my car, one must not miss an opportunity to celebrate.

I like to try different regional root beers when I get a chance. When we were younger in Japan in the 50’s we used to get root beer floats on the weekends at the snack bars at different military bases. One of ours would always start to explode and spill over the glass and get on the table. We could never figure out why. My husband’s favorites are Boylan and Virgil’s.

I’m on the “like it” side! Haven’t had one in a while though, this might be a good excuse:@)
