Saw this ad and thought for a second that I would automatically find it offensive. Because, you know, as a gal, I just love it when a man bulks all us lady folk together and sets down suggested rules for behavior and then uses those helpful suggestions to sell us stuff.
But then I realized...1. Bill Blass and I have the same taste in women, and 2. Bill Blass was gay as a Sunday picnic. So why was he selling draconian man swagger by way of perfume? Why did any magazine editor ever allow this ad to grace their pages? And, also, why do I suddenly feel compelled to cruise the interwebs for Bill Blass perfume?
