After every holiday I sit down and make a quick list of all the things I meant to do but never got done. It can be a little depressing but it provides a road map for where to start the following year (my fellow bloggers will appreciate this). Well, for THREE YEARS now I have been wanting to make something with marshmallow Peeps, and yet again, this year I have fallen behind. It’s like those peeps are hellbent on escaping my glue gun! Can you imagine?
So now the time has come. It’s spring. It’s Easter. It’s Peep season.
Bring it on!
1. Beatles Peeps 2. Popcorn Peeps 3. Chair Peeps 4. Tuxedo Peeps 5. Marilyn Peeps 6. Bouquet O’Peeps Honorary mention: The PeepMopolitan.
Have you ever made something fun with peeps?
Have I done anything fun with peeps? Does putting them in the microwave for first graders and watching them puff up count? I was the coolest mom on the block that year because I didn’t mind exploding peeps in my microwave. We conducted “experiments” to see which color puffed up the biggest, how much time it took to explode a peep, how fat they got, and, most importantly, did the taste change from blowing them up. I don’t remember the answers to any of these highly technical questions. Personally, I can’t stand them, but I will buy them for friends who love them.
Deb sounds like the coolest mom ever. I’m 30 and I want to go microwave one now. Ain’t nobody stopping me! Also, those Beatles Peeps had me crying! So amazing. No Peeps Wreath, Aunt P?! ^^
I use the massive quantities of Peeps that descend on our house to make Rice Krispie Peeps. It is fiendishly delightful to watch them melt along with copious amounts of butter.
i made the peeps sunflower cake: http://www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/peeps-sunflower-cake.
of course, i waited until the saturday before, and all i could find was pink bunny peeps, but i think it worked.
I haven’t made anything with Peeps, but I always check out the Washington Post’s Annual Peep Contest. I tried to pin them on Pinterest, but I can’t get the photos big enough. I hate the taste, as much as I hate circus peanuts, but I’m off to the store to buy some for the microwave! I wonder if anyone has ever made a Peeps wedding cake?
My husband is always complaining that I have a few chairs that are waiting for an overall. I should surprise him and cover one with peeps. I will be traveling cross country next week so I might not get one done in time for Easter, but I could buy after-Easter peeps.

My rehearsal dinner cake topper. I used a little tule circle and small fake flowers to turn one of the peeps into a bride and a skinny bow to turn the other into the groom. I wish I had a little top hat.
I despise the taste of peeps but I love the peeps dioramas and stuff on the internet about peep research. Also, my roommate bought a stuffed peep bunny that I commandeer every time we go to her parents’ house. Since I always end up sleeping in the basement, Mr. Peep joins me. Yes, I’m ever so creative with the stuffed animal names. I have a hippo named hippo. And an owl that is named Ollie (although my roommate’s owl’s name is Stan after Laurel and hardy).
Wish I would have see this on Easter, I ADORE the peep chair, too cool. I think I have a wreath tutorial using peeps on my Pinterest page.
