I have never been big on dollhouses.
I mean, I had a dollhouse when I was a kid but I never really got into it. It was four rooms, not that big, and I covered it in paste and wrapping paper and stickers and drew on the walls in crayon. I liked it. If you, or your Barbie, were to have walked into it, you would have written it off as home to an 80’s hair band, or perhaps a cheerful crack den. I did not mind having a rough-and-tumble dollhouse as my Great Aunt Marie had an enormous dollhouse created as a replica of her home, right down to the polka dot curtains and pots in the kitchen. It was, and is, insane. It also made me feel very inadequate on the dollhouse front so I never took much interest in it.
Until now….
That’s right. It’s a replica of the Golden Girls house.
I’m slightly miffed they neglected to include Blanche’s bedroom with banana leaf wallpaper, but whatever, I’ll get over it. Especially since I’m ripping off this idea on making my own Designing Women dollhouse. Get your wallet out.
That is amazeballs right there. I would love to see another level for the bedrooms,
that house seemed to go on forever.
Agreed. I would also like them to feature play figures, not just for the four, but for Miles and Stan and that time Mario Lopez played Dorothy’s student….or the time Dick VanDyke played Dorothy’s BF the lawyer turned professional clown. And all the characters in Empty Nest, obviously. And….okay, I’ll stop…
Oh my. That’s…made me speechless for a moment.
I wish they would’ve included the lanai instead of just painting it on. Everytime there was an outdoor scene and they referred to the “lanai”. I always wondered who in the hell calls their patio a “lanai”?
And big “thank you” for keeping me up to date on this stuff. Seriously. Now that I can converse about these off-beat topics, people think that I am much more interesting than I really am. 😉
You are most welcome 🙂
What, no cheesecake on the kitchen table?
FOR REAL, YO.
Also, not nearly enough copper pudding molds in the kitchen, and they totally skipped the jumbo feather floor vases, but I digress. It is still magnificent.
And the kitchen phone…with the cord that could stretch all the way to the fridge! Oh, and the door from the kitchen that must lead outside or to a garage…guess we’ll never know since they never showed what was on the other side. 🙂
It really is fantastic but my wallet is not that big! So I shall drool over the pictures as I watch rerun after rerun. They still make me laugh every time.
