Some recommended distractions to get you through the week…
Inside the Mansfield mansion. Three words: wall carpeted bathroom.
Disney Princesses with realistic waistlines look…fabulous!
Three ways to make your clothes smell amazing (I’m a fan of the soap bar method)
The seven deadly sins of DIY.
Check out the most eccentric AirBnB in NYC.
A nifty way to use up dryer lint and leftover candle wax.
How do we feel about the Pride and Prejudice zombie movie? Hrmmm.
Trick-or-treaters got you on a sugar high? Six secrets for dealing with all that candy.
A friend of mine made these carmel apple cheesecake bars for a party this weekend and I ate one and it made my brains fall out. I’m not sure if Thanksgiving turkey mixes well with streusel topping, but we all might need to find out.
Brittany Maynard chose to end her life this weekend. I’m not sure how to process this, but her words, and her story, have me rethinking my concept of “quality of life.” What do you think?
Thank you for your Monday posts. You show me things that I didn’t know existed and I enjoy that they fill my mind more so than what my co worker is complaining about. 🙂 Thank you!
I just read about Brittany prior to hopping over here. I agree with your thought. I admire her, that she looked outside of the box, even though I am not sure I would. I admire she was willing to be a voice, at that stage in her life – a voice of something that most will agree or disagree with – to deal with public opinion while enjoying her last days…
Well said. You have to admire someone willing to make a hard, unpopular, heartbreaking choice. I don’t know that I would have her courage. I hope her family finds some comfort in knowing they shared her light, even for a little while.
But for real, is Sofia something we can buy? Because that would be my Christmas shopping done and done.
I know right??? It doesn’t appear so. The link god sot her Flickr page and I don’t see any further way to inquire. I do recall seeing something similar on Etsy a while back – part of a portrait project as I recall. I’ll see if I come across a link to that. I’d love one!
OOH.MAAAHH.GAAAAWD. The Mansfield mansion and AirB&B…Peaches, you gotta give us some warning before the jump…I can’t even…overwhelming is the only word I can say. Seriously. I am baffled…it’s sensory overload on every bad level. How in the heck did Mariska Hargitay turn out as cool and normal as she has? I mean…that house! Sometimes more isn’t better, it’s just MORE. WAY. MORE. Holy crap.
And then Brittany Maynard brought it all into perspective. My heart ached for her and that decision she chose to make. It still aches for her husband and family.
Fabulous links this week! Now at least I know where to stay in NYC. Also, I have to say that the 6 candy secrets are really missing a great crafty from you–why are they just passing on the candy? Why hasn’t it been re-purposed into something greater? Maybe next year we can try your Day of the Dead skull project covered instead in candy bits, yes?
