Thanks for the reminder of those precious Gees Bend Quilters. The Milwaukee Art Museum had a fabulous exhibition of their work about a decade ago, which I was lucky to see on the very last day during a massive snow storm. As the only patron left in the museum, walking through the forest of hanging quilts took on a magical quality that stays with me to this day.
