Some of my favorite distractions from the last month…

The photo above was taken in March, but June is the official month for rainbows in my mind. Find the complete directions at ElizabethBanks.com |
Speaking of rainbows, do you know the history of the rainbow flag? Neither did I. Fascinating.
I have always thought Jaderbomb was the crafty cat’s pajamas, but this post took a lot of guts. I hope you will take a sec to wish her a happy birthday. Yay for Club 33!
Liberace’s house is for sale. Now all I need is a job and Vegas and a cool half mil. Who wants in on this sweet deal?
Mad Men is now over, sigh, but not before Dee spotted my wallpapered fridge. Pattern love!
Recent events in the news have brought this very famous essay back to the forefront. It’s a two minute must-read for all of us white folks who think we understand race relations. (Newsflash: we don’t.)
Anyone taking a road trip this summer? This is the app for you.
There are times when everyone with an iphone thinks they can take photos like a professional photographer. So much so, that the Chicago Sun Times recently fired their entire photography staff. One look at these two cover pages should illustrate the difference.
I found a new smorgasbord of craft ideas under $10. This’ll keep you busy all weekend!
Went to Spoonflower looking for flamingo feather fabric. Found Doctor Who toile. It’s a toss up.
And speaking of rainbows, I am going to need some of these. All of them.
And while I was over there, these taffy dipped safety pin bobbles are giving me a serious case of the wants.

Got any plans for the weekend? This blog turns three on Monday, so I’m thinking about taking her out for ice cream. Double scoop!
Happy weekend 🙂
Weekend? If it would just quit raining or have the potential to rain. Do you think Noah would mind if I spruced up my cabin a bit? He seriously needs to move the pink flamingos (Lincoln Park Zoo) to the front of the boat. The pigeon is no good as a hood ornament.
You have me in a serious state of “I wanna craft”. I’m soo very good at starting but not finishing stuff. Still thinking about the umbrella wreath. Sitting on the deck with a soda next to me and my current cross-stitch in my hands would be lovely. Citronella candles, where are you? But it has to quit raining.
Peaches! Thanks so much for mentioning me, that was SUPA DUPA SWEET. I can’t believe we both turn 3 this month!!!! <3 Talk to you soon!
I haven’t visited Spoonflower for a while. The Toile knocked me out! Did you see the Sloth toile? I’m thinking of creating some wallpaper. What about you?
Yes, I did! Sloth toile is awesome. I don’t have the guts or patience to wallpaper a whole room. They certainly have some nice options though!
Happy Third Birthday, Aunt Peaches! We’re going to Toronto Pride this weekend! Rainbow on!
Thank you! Our Pride Parade is today as well. Wahoo!!
Hi Aunt Peaches, in an earlier post, u mentioned you want oyster shells. I live by Willapa Bay, in SW Wa state. About a mile from my house, they process oysters, leaving huge piles of the shells for the taking. I could get you a boxful. Let me know. I am the gal who made the purse for Lola. I would be glad to help.
GARNET!!!! Oh my gosh, I have been looking for you! I set aside your package to send you something special (your valentine was far too generous)….in the shuffle, I lost your sweet note inside. I have been feeling awful ever since that I never acknowleged your wonderful, wonderful, gift. That purse hangs on the mirror in my closet and the other piece is tacked up on a bulletin board — I see them everyday. And Lola LOVED the mouse. I say LOVED in past tense because she tore it apart while I wasn’t looking, sadly, it may have been a little too realistic. It’s been a few years since she was going after real mice…I think she got lost in the moment 🙂 SIlly kitty…
PLEASE EMAIL ME. I have something for you. Don’t worry about oysters — you have already given me so much. But I need YOUR address. Email me: emailauntpeaches@gmail.com — I cannot see your email address from the comment section (blogger hides it)…so I have to ask you to do one more thing and email me. I will hunt you down if you don’t!
Happy birthday Aunt Peaches! Here’s to many, many more!
