I had big plans to dress Lola as a flamingo for Halloween, but I pulled back for fear it would upset the stitches on her stomach (…long story. I’ll save you the unpleasant details, but rest assured, she is doing great now).
Still, never one to be outdone, Lola had to make a grand appearance.
…and what could be more grand the MGM Lion?
Man, and I thought Cher was a diva.
And, actually, a movie themed costume is actually pretty perfect. I think of movies in conjunction with Halloween the same way I think of turkey in conjunction with Thanksgiving – they just go together. Last night I watched Scream. The original, 1996 version. It’s not bad. It probably would have been even better had I not let myself get distracted by the nostalgia of landline telephones and cube shaped televisions. Ahh, the good ol’ days.
If you are looking for a scary (or not-so scary) movie tonight, be sure to check out this list assembled by my pal Michelle L last year. Some serious niftyness going on up in there.
And for those who will not have time to watch a scary movie today, Lola offers you this short film from Henri, L’Haunting. After all, what could be more frightening than existential crisis?
Happy Halloween!
Loved the film. Glad Lola is feeling better. But what better time of year to have stitches than at Halloween?
This is true. I don’t think she appreciates the coincidence though.
Wow! I’m always impressed by people who can successfully pose their pets. How did you get her to yawn? or were you just patient/lucky?
Patience and observation. If know she’ll do a t least a couple good yawns after a long nap. This time she was in good lighting and I was waiting with a camera.
if lola snarfed down some ribbon, i totally feel your pain. one of ours did that recently and while she didn’t need surgery in the long run, it was still a traumatic experience and significant trip to the vet.
Poor kitty! They love trouble don’t they?
Lola’s issue wasn’t internal (thank goodness). She’s back in her happy way now. Fingers crossed she stays that way.
