I know, I know, this giveaway is a little bit of a cop out. It’s not new or glittery or valued highly, but it’s “my thing.”
Between feedback from you guys and Google Analytics, my best guess is that well-over half of y’all came here through an outside post on my coffee filter flowers. It’s been months since I have made a single flower, but not a day goes by that I don’t read a comment, inquiry or question about them. For a while now, I’ll admit I have *almost* felt slightly resentful about it, but somehow I am OK now. Some people are known for their talents, some for their skills, some are known for their story….I will be known for my coffee filters. It’s strange, but I’m embracing it. It is my birthday and I am embracing it!
So, with that in mind, I’m just going with the crowd, get back in the habit, and give some away.
This Goody Bag Giveaway includes:
- Two Dozen Coffee Filter Flowers, handmade by moi, any color way you want.
This week’s Goody Bag Giveaways are open to anyone, anywhere, no “following” necessary. To enter, leave a comment answering the question below. No more than one comment, per person, per post, please. Be sure your email address is included in the comment or via online profile. All Goody Bag winners will be chosen at random and announced 8am CST Monday, September 26, 2011

Happy Birthday, Aunt Peaches — a rose in your own right!

I could never make coffee filter flowers as gorgeous as yours, I’d love these! I know it’s everyone’s favorite but my favorite flower are peonies. Have a fabulous birthday!

Right now, my favorite flowers are the zinnias in front of my window. I would never have thought that such ORANGE flowers would be my favorites. But then I suffered a sudden loss and my friends gave me the flowers right before I left my family and came back to my (adult) home. Now every time that I see them, I am reminded of the incredible support of those friends. So those are my favorites.
But I would not ask for coffee filter zinnias. Orange is really not my thing in most cases.
Happy day to you!
Liz
I really love hydrangeas. They don’t grow well where I live (in Alberta) so you hardly ever see them. When we used to visit my family in Victoria BC you would see them everywhere! I love the variety of colours they come in & that they are kind of like a pom-pom of flowers.

Happy happy birthday! And as far as I’m concerned, you’re so much more than your coffee filters {although they are lovely}! My favorite flower is the peony followed by everything–never met a flower I didn’t like. Hope you’re up to lots of fun things this weekend to celebrate!

Happy Happy Happy Birthday! To you to you to you! Ole’ (once you work at Chi-Chi’s, that song will never leave your head!) 🙂
Peonies are my flavorite! When I moved into my house five years ago I discovered that I had a bright pink (like hot pink!) Peony plant growing in an otherwise flower free “flower bed” of hostas. I love having them in my …ahem…garden, even though they only bloom for a short period of time, they are such a beautiful flower!
Candace
i LOVE sunflowers! maybe it’s because I grew up in Kansas, but I also love their cheerfulness and wildflower feel.

No question – Jasmine! They’re small but so powerful. That scent will forever take me back to my favorite city, Charleston SC.
Happy Birthday! ~ stephanie@swankpad.org

That question is sooooo not fair! How can I chose my favorite?? Hydrangeas, daisies, roses, and now coffee filter flowers too! You are the coffee filter queen, no doubt about it!
Molly
Pretty! It’s my birthday, too, so happy happy birthday to us both!
Maggie
A dahlia because they’re full and colorful and imperfect, but there’s order if you look closely enough. HAPPY BIRTHDAY
Franjessica
Happy Birthday Peaches! I hope it’s full of your favorite foods and friends. I have never met a flower I didn’t like, but I am partial to snap dragons because of their unique shape and the variety of colors they can be- my favorite being fuschia.
LindaSonia
Happiest Birthday to you!! As many times as I’ve admired and seen these coffee filters on one nlog or the other and as many tutorials for making them that I’ve saved, I’ve never actually made one or purchased one!!! I’d love to see them up close and personal 😉
Jamie
Happy Birthday!! OMG I WANT THIS GIVEAWAY!!! The others have been great but I covet your coffee filter flowers but lack the motivation to take on that project myself. I love to craft too, so that is odd. So when you DO choose me for this giveaway, I will take a nice range of warm peachy/pink/coral tones 😉 So pretty! But anyway my favorite flowers are Poppies. 🙂 Particularly pink ones. I love that gorgeous warm soft pink, the papery texture of the petals and the sharp black center. Gorgeous!

My favorite flower is the rose, but it is closely followed by pretty much everything else. Flowers are wonderful, especially those with a scent.
Thank you!

A few years back when I got married my husband and I were trying to save money on expenses and decided to not buy flowers but instead try and gather garden flowers. Sadly that spring season no flowers were blooming in the gardens. Thankfully though a day before my wedding family members helped gather up buckets and buckets of lilacs donated from bushes of friends to fill the center pieces, bouquets and more. Today they are my life saving, favorite flower.

Wild daisies because they are so simple and often overlooked. They are spring, epitomized, to me anyways ha ha.

AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Suzy
Happy birfday! I hope it is amaztastic! Is it really your proper birthday today? Friday birthdays are awesome because the official birthday rules specify that you are allowed to extend your special day and have a birthday weekend! Fact. And if you birthday was earlier this week then screw it– celebrate all weekend anyway!
My favorite flower is definitely the crab apple tree blossom. The house I grew up in had a small crab apple tree in the backyard and I always lurved it. I would pick off the individual blossoms, throw them into puddles, and watch them float away. When the blossoms come in early spring it makes me so happy, especially after a long winter in Buffalo. I see all of the blossoms and start dreaming up adventures for the upcoming summer. I love blossoms so much that I got some tattooed on my leg!

HaPpY BiRthDaY! I have so many favorite flowers it’s hard to pick one. After much thought, I have decided on the peony. Not only are they luxurious to look at, but the scent! HEAVENLY! Ok, I need to sigh off now or I’ll change my mind!

I have a love of all flowers but I think my favorites are the Iris and Passion Flower because they seem complex in their design. I’m also amazed at all the different varieties and species that inhabit the earth because each person, animal, and insect is so different (in our appearances, behaviors, etc.) but yet….we’re so much a like in ways (the way food is processed, we have joints, brains, etc.)
Thanks for sharing your talents!
LauraEC
Happy birthday! Hope you enjoy your next trip around the sun!
My favourite flower is without doubt the freesia. It’s kind of annoying because it’s not something you can usually buy and even if you can find them they don’t last for long. When I do find them I love them in any colour and just enjoy their smell and delicate-ness!
Nutbird
Happy Birthday! I love, love gardenias. For the smell. Ann

Hey I’m so glad you got famous for your coffee filter flowers. Since that’s how I learned of your blog I think it’s a blessing!
I do know how you felt though! A bakery I worked at became extremely popular overnight because of ONE baked good that was featured on a Food Network show. One out of the dozens we made each day. Suddenly we couldn’t make enough of em, and it was like, “What the heck? Are we a one hit wonder?” All the other sweets were equally spectacular yet years later the shop is still best known for this one fad sweet.

Happy Birthday. No matter what you are remembered for….the point is you ARE remembered. My fav flower is the peonies. I like to describe them as a ruffly rose. Think they are most gorgeous. Thanks and have a super day.

Happy Birthday, Peaches. You are special, coffee filter flowers, Lola and all. Look how many followers you have as a result of creating the CF flowers??? If you hadn’t, well then…
It is hard to narrow down my fav flower, but right now, I enjoy my white butterfly bush with its nice fragrance. I have them in different colors and the butterflies just love them.
Thanks for sharing your birthday, and other days with us.

(Forgot to leave my email address on my original comment: wadewool at gmail dot com) Happy happy birthday, Aunt Peaches – hope it’s a winner! I have a trifecta of favourite flowers: iris, violets and lily of the valley. The first because my grandmother used to grow them in a swath of hundreds, maybe thousands (to my child’s eye) down the long front lawn of her home. Violets and lily of the valley because they are small and modest but so sweetly scented; like the song goes: the littlest birds sing the prettiest songs!
Stacy
Happy Birthday and heres wishing you many many more happy ones!
I love all flowers. The love was passed on to me from my mother. But my favorites are dandelions. My mother refused to let my dad mow the lawn till they were done blooming so every year I would sit out on the lawn in the spring sunshine with a needle and thread and make leis for everyone I loved. Oh and my dolls too. 🙂

Happy B-day to a fun and talented Queen of Blogs!

I love peonies! I remember helping my grandpa pick them and put then put them in metal juice cans in the fridge for Memorial Day. Now I have some of the peony plants that were my grandparents in my yard. dianahj123 at yahoo dot com Thank you for the chance at one of your drawings for your birthday, I hope it was a happy one!

Not the most gentle or regal flower , but I love the zinnia. The sturdy, brightly colored flowers remind me on summers spent in my grandmothers beautiful garden.

Happy happy birthday! You are a new find for me and one I’m SO enjoying.

Hi Peaches,
Happy Birthday to you! Lovely paper flowers and a lovely giveaway. But always an enjoyable read on your blog so don’t stop writing.
My favorite flower is the Dandelion. It’s brilliant yellow and resilient nature. It adapts to the surroundings, and is the first sign of a beautiful spring after a long winter. Always optimistic and happy. I always smile when I see a field of dandelions
When a child gives you dandelions, it means to you I will always be true.
Have a very creative day!
(((hugs)))

Your coffee filter flowers are gorgeous. They remind me of my favorite flower – the peony – which I love because they are big and beautiful and they smell heavenly. They were uncommon up here in Alaska until recently. Now we have an Alaska-based peony farm and can have peonies well through September, unlike the rest of the world!
Anna
I don’t know if I have a favorite flower. I’d probably choose fuschias right now. I saw a lot of them at fairs over the summer and they seem like something I’d like to grow. Thanks for the giveaway!
Paige Dolecki
I think German Bearded Iris are my all time favorite flower. I love their stately look, their gorgeous colors and their heady scent that says “Spring is Here” to me! I’m glad you’ve embraced the fame of coffee filter flowers – I love what you’ve made with them!
