Most of you don’t come here to discuss Jamie Lynn Spears’, “totally unplanned,” Red Sonja style knife moves at a Lousiana pita shack (which is a shame because I would like to discuss this AT LENGTH) – so here is a pillow I made out of crayons and white cotton. That’s it. Crayons + Fabric + a quick hot of the iron and it looks like I made my own fancy fabric by drawing circles on circles on circles…until they started to look like a microscopic view of bacterial growth. I know. Isn’t botulism pretty? Read about how you can make your own over at Pentel.com!

Do you have to use cotton? I would like to write things on silk without bleeding. Which of their pens or pencils would do that, do you think? I would like it to look like calligraphy, or cartoon sayings.

The fibers in silk are such that I suspect it would be difficult to get any sort of ink-based product to not spread, which is why the wax-based crayons are nice. I’ll think they’ll stick to any sort of natural fiber but cotton is usually the most-porous. It might be hard to do fine-point calligraphy with a big chunky crayon, but I bet it could be sharpened with a knife or something. I’ll think about this some more…

Well that escalated quickly….
