I’m going to be honest. It’s been a goat rodeo around here and I’m still catching up. In addition to the regular drill, for some reason, I thought it would be smart to schedule a bunch of site updates on tax day. So that was fun. You like the new look? I’m only half-way done but we are getting there. Shout out to my friend Justin for his help on my new logo. It’s strange that people pay me to design logos for them but I need to ask for outside help to design my own. What is the expression…“The cobbler’s children have no shoes” ? Only I’m not a cobbler. And I have way too many shoes.
Anyhooters. Someone once told me that when you are feeling temporarily overwhelmed, the best thing to do is write down three small things that bring you joy. Preferably things that you have no control over, you are just happy that they exist. So as long as I’m writing them down for my own benefit, I thought I’d share here.
Three Things that bring me joy today
#1 This is totally vapid but I have been looking forward to since I read about it in November. Lily Pulitzer collection comes to Target this weekend. April 19 to be exact. All the palm tree prints and pom-pom fringe you can handle. AND IT’S SUPER AFFORDABLE.
When Target has launched these limited brand collections in the past it has been absolute mayhem. Folks barnstorm the stores and the website crashes the first ten minutes. Ebay peddlers go in person and stuff their carts with whatever they can grab, knowing they can sell it for double two weeks later. I really want to go. I am a life-long Lily fan and I can rarely afford the regular prices, but is it worth losing a tooth?
That’s a tough one.
Speaking of my favorite Floridian legends…
#2 The Golden Girls Lego set may be coming to a store near you.
It’s been in the rumble room for a while now, but it passed the criteria to begin the official review process from Lego. This will likely take months, or even years. The fan support is clearly there (was that not obvious?)..if Lego doesn’t move forward it will likely be on account of legal or licensing issues, not because they don’t want to make it happen. That wouldn’t stop me from torching their dumpster with my Bea Arthur lighter, but you know, I’ll sit on it a while.
And speaking of senior citizens who know how to get down. #3 is my favorite news of all…
Look at this. LOOK AT IT.
You guys, I am smiling like I swallowed a coat hanger. Major, major, jazz hands and sparkle hats to Amy and her troop of crafty Seniors. Amy found my blue hydrangea tutorial and adapted it into a red geranium. I had never thought of this as a type of party/group/class project, but here we go, once again, I learn from YOU guys.
Happy weekend everyone!

OMG thank you for this post.
Whenever I find Lily at the Goodwill – think richa cashmere sweater with the gaudiest palm tree print woven in, even in PA I make it work.
Am I an ass for looking at the kitchen and thinking there was no mixer on the counter in any of the episodes? Details people details! And where are the Lego jello molds?
You know you are on top of life when seniors think your sh#t needs to be reproduced! Golf claps. Golf claps.

WAIT. Where on earth do you find Lily at Goodwill????? I have only seen a blouse once. Once! it was a size 2 so I chopped it up for christmas ribbon. Felt bad about it, but not that bad.

Peaches, your new logo is spectacular! I indeed love it. And I love the word anyhooters. Makes me laugh. You are the best.
Gotta go now and plan my trip to Target…

Ooo, everything looks great!
How did I not know Lily was coming to Target! Holy cow. On the one hand, it will be a little disappointing because it won’t be as nice, but on the other hand, WHO CARES? LILY.
I think I’m going.
Anyhooters…(hahaha awesome)

Logo: oooh, spectacular! Ladies who geranium: far and away the coolest way a craft tute could be used. Hope you have lassooed a few of the goats and feel less overwhelmed.

Love the new peach logo!
I found a pink Lilly cashmere sweater in perfect condition for $2 at a thrift shop. Not to be believed!

OH MAN, THE LEGO SET IS AWESOME. I’ve always wanted a Lego Bea Arthur. It can hang with my James Lipton lego man.

thanks for the Lilly/Target reminder. The Woman’s sizes 1X, 2xx, 3xx , etc are only available on line. I’m not sure which of the two stores I should go to. I would like to get something interesting. The Missoni introduction was a real debaucle. I’ll have to look up a lot of the ads, or PR articles. I like your new banner, or whatever it is. It’s very classic, but seems a little staid for you. But’s that okay.Sometimes simple is better.

You said ‘anyhooters’?! Bahahahahahah! Permission to poach?
aunt peaches
Of course. Not sure who I poached it from but it’s in the public pool of words — we can all use it!

Love the new logo! I was getting worried because you hadn’t posted for a day or two, but it sounds like life attacked you!! Keep up the wonderful blog!!
aunt peaches
Thanks, Sue. We are here and all is well, just catching up. Hope you are having a great weekend!

Your blog looks fantastic!!
Golden Girls Lego set!!!! WHAT?!? No words for how awesome that is….seriously one of my favorite shows. Anytime I’m feeling yucky I go straight for a Golden girls episode. The music alone makes me smile. 🙂
